IWCO Direct Announces New High-Speed Mail Processing Technology Center

Chanhassen, MN (November 17, 2004) — IWCO Direct, an integrated direct mail services company, announces the establishment of a new high-speed mail processing technology center on its Chanhassen, MN campus. Scheduled to go live in January 2005, the Center will utilize all new high-speed equipment and technology to expand both capacity and capabilities for North America’s leading direct marketers.

“ IWCO Direct's expansion initiatives are focused on high speed lettershop equipment to support our print, plastics and envelope platforms and the complex products and programs that are used by today’s leading direct marketers to increase response rates,” said Jim Andersen, president and CEO. “We have designed the new facility to respond to the market’s demand for seamless production, enhanced quality and accuracy, and speed-to-market.”

In June, IWCO Direct announced expansion plans for its Little Falls, MN facility that included high-speed affixers, embossers, bindery lines, inserters, and a fifth Siemens Dematic Delivery-Point Bar Code Sorter (DBCS) for commingling. The efficiency gains from the new equipment in Little Falls accelerated IWCO Direct’s plan to establish a new high-speed mailing center in Chanhassen. In addition to investing in its current facilities, IWCO Direct is pursuing an acquisition outside of Minnesota.

“The next phase of our plan - geographic expansion of our platform - will deliver additional benefits to customers by adding proximity to population centers to our already powerful commingling services,” said Tom Wicka, executive vice president–Marketing and Sales. “We continue to see an expansion of programs and evidence that direct mail is the most effective channel for marketers who need to acquire new customers, re-activate former customers, and expand share of wallet with existing customers.”

The new facility will operate 24/7 and will create more than 80 new full-time jobs in the manufacturing sector.

IWCO Direct, headquartered in Chanhassen, Minn., has served the needs of North American direct marketers for more than 35 years. IWCO Direct provides direct marketing like no one else by seamlessly integrating direct mail services from a primary campus resulting in streamlined production for all components – printing, plastics, envelope conversion and mailing services. IWCO Direct’s industry experience and technology along with proprietary P.O.S.T. (Postal Optimization Strategy and Technologies) and RideShare™ commingling and logistics management programs deliver dramatic postage savings and faster time to market.
